Isometric paper on iPad

Isometric paper is graph paper for drawing in 3D. On iPad you skip the printer, pick the lattice size you want, and your lines can snap to it.

What isometric paper is

width depth height
Height goes up; width and depth follow the diagonals.

Its three line sets match a box’s three edges, so sizes count in lattice steps, with no perspective to work out.

Why draw it on iPad

up to 50 pages No printing Lines snap to it Undo, not erase S M L Pick the density
Fresh sheets, snapping, undo, three densities.

A pad holds up to 50 pages, and snapped lines stay true when you draw fast.

How to sketch on isometric paper

Block in the box
Carve out features
Angled cuts last
Circles: ellipses

Put both ends of a slope on lattice points. Then size it: How to dimension an isometric drawing.

Choosing a lattice size

Small Medium Large
One 2 × 2 × 2 cube, three sizes.

Small fits more detail; Medium is a good default; Large blocks in big shapes fast.
